One question: How much do Roadrunners recycle?

Members of Dr. John Lugthart's Environmental Studies class took it upon themselves to find out.

As part of an ongoing project, he and his students met behind the Pope Student Center to dumpster dive and go through our waste to see how much could have been recycled.

These students sorted out different recyclable items and placed them in five-gallon buckets before compacting them to get their results.

Paper and plastic were among the top recyclable items found in the trash bins; these items were then placed in recycling bins.

Saving dumpster space and bringing awareness for a cleaner Earth was the goal at the end of this project.
